Think of a sports car concept and then make it so outrageously muscular it hurts just to look at it. Paint it in a retina-searing colour and plonk a 402hp electric powertrain into it. Then give it a name: E-Tense. Having just made its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show, the DS E-Tense is the stuff of concept car dreams. Not only is it gob-smackingly stunning in its aggression, but it’s only 4.7 metres long and as low as it dares to go.

How likely it is that young French brand DS will bring out a tree-hugging supercar is up for debate, but it’s true that once it frees itself of the shackles of its Citroen sister company, the page is blank. Perhaps the company will go down a performance route, or maybe it’ll do solely electric cars. Either way, expect the E-Tense to have some kind of significance when looking back in another 10 years or so.
