Students following the International Baccalaureate at St Edward’s College, Cottonera, and 17 Spanish students from Virgen del Remedio, Madrid, watched actors from the American Drama Group Europe perform a play in Valletta about the life and death of Martin Luther King.

Afterwards at St Edward’s College the students participated in workshops that discussed topics such as persecution of minorities, poverty, migration and climate change and its social impact.

The leaders of each workshop presented their conclusions to a plenary session, wghich was concluded with a talk by Neil Falzon, an Old Edwardian and human rights lawyer who heads local NGO Aditus Foundation.

Dr Falzon spoke about the role every person can play to protect the rights of every individual regardless of nationality, skin colour or sexual inclination.
