Is Martin Scicluna’s vision (February 17) so blurred as not to realise the answers he seeks from the leader of the Opposition should be directed to the Labour government? Or is that particular field ODZ for him?

Why is Scicluna obsessed with what the Opposition should promise to do in the future and so little concerned with what the Labour government is doing today to our environment, right under his very nose?

What is stopping him from demanding that the government save thousands of square metres of countryside in Żonqor from destruction while he is still in time?

Why does he want the Opposition to save the ODZ in future but not expect the same from the Labour government today?

How can Scicluna not find it repulsive to collaborate with the process of enabling Sadeen to obtain a university licence for his development project on virgin land at Żonqor Point?

Why does Scicluna continue to chair the NCFHE education commission if he truly believes the Żonqor ODZ land project is terrible and ought to be stopped?

How can he preach good governance one minute and consider an application for a licence to an ODZ project theother minute?

Why is Scicluna so cynical about the Opposition’s process of updating its environmental policy and at the same time so accommodating of the Labour government’s environmental mess?

And why has Scicluna conveniently ignored the unprecedented offer of support made to the Prime Minister by the Opposition leader to deal with the illegal boathouses once and for all?

No leader of any large political party has ever had the mettle to take this position. How convenient for Scicluna to pass over this in silence.

Scicluna writes great sermons on the environment and good governance. But it is high time for him to walk the talk.
