The 13th edition of the hugely popular Good Friday night walk will be held on the night of Maundy Thursday-Good Friday between the sanctuaries of Our Lady in Mellieha and Senglea.

Some 10,000 people participated last year when more than €100,000 were raised for Puttinu Cares. Participants are asked to donate a minimum of €10.

The walk was started by Joseph Vella from Mellieha and his son-in-law Glenn.

This year's walk, on Friday, March 25, starts at 2am in Misrah iz-Zjara tal-Papa (outside the Sanctuary of Our Lady) in Mellieħa and takes about four hours, ending in Senglea.

Upon arrival, a certificate of participation will be handed to all participants.

Water stations and refreshments will be available along the walk. Free transport prior to the walk from Senglea, at around midnight, and after the walk to Mellieha will be provided upon booking.

Minibuses and coaches will be available along the route to pick up those who decide to stop. They will be taken to Senglea. Medical staff will also be on standby in case of any emergencies.
