InterContinental Malta’s team of chefs, led by executive chef Paul Borg, won 24 awards through all categories at the recent awards organized by Malta Kulinarija. These awards included a Gold Award with Trophy for the Chef Grand Prix Team made up of Ryan Marmarà, Paul Bajada and Byron Saliba; a Gold Award for Works in Chocolate by Byron Saliba; and a Silver Award with Trophy for Three Course Mystery Box, pairing Ryan Marmarà and Brady Dalli.

The Malta Kulinarija Cookery and Culinary Arts Championships, organised by the Malta Chef Society, is attended by trainees, kitchen artists and chefs from Malta’s top restaurants and hotels. The evaluation process includes flavour, presentation, composition, technical skills and other measurable benchmarks.

“I am immensely proud of our kitchen brigade. Each team member has done us proud and it is of particular pleasure to see the high quality of cuisine that we are able to display and to offer our guests,” said area general manager for Malta Martin van Kan.
