The need to educate children on true inner freedom; skills that help parents accompany their children wisely through adolescence into adulthood; and the Bible’s positive outlook on the possibility of transforming family conflicts into personal growth opportunities were some of the themes addressed at this year’s annual conference of the Gozo diocese Family Commission. Guest speakers at the conference, entitled ‘You always want something. Parents’ response to children’s yearnings’, included psychologists and family therapists Gilberto Gillini and Maria Teresa Zattoni (right) who have written books on family relationships. Another speaker was biblical scholar Fr Giulio Michelini.
