Q: Over a year ago, I bought a dehumidifier, which I took last week for repair because the water was overflowing from its container. When the container is full it is not stopping automatically, as it used to.
The other day, I picked up the dehumidifier from the company’s service centre and was told that a micro switch had been changed. However, the problem is still there. It is clear that they did not even test it before giving it back to me.
What happens now? What remedy am I entitled to?
A: Since the dehumidifier was bought more than a year ago and, since the seller only tried to repair it once, if the seller wants to carry out a second repair you should allow him to do so.
If the problem persists after the second repair, then you should ask for a replacement. You may request a refund if replacement is not possible or if opted for may cause you a significant inconvenience.
