A public-spirited man showed his disgust over dumping at Selmun by shooting this video, which is now doing the rounds on social media.

It shows the remains of a main bedroom, dumped at the picturesque site. The video was uploaded by Raniero Borg.

In a statement the Ministry for Transport and the Infrastructure condemned the dumping. 

Unfortunately such cases were still happening often, despite the fact that the people could use a door-to-door bulky waste collection service offered for free by local councils. One can also throw away his waste in civic amenity sites, the ministry said.

The ministry said its directorate for cleanliness also offered a free collection service and would continue to work day and night to keep the country clean but the people had to do their part as well. 

It said calls on freephone 1718 are addressed within 24 hours, sometimes as quickly as one hour.
