A United Launch Alliance Delta IV rocket carrying a classified spy satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office successfully launched into space from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California this morning.

The pre-dawn launch lit up the sky.

ULA says the mission is for the National Reconnaissance Office in support of national defense.
