Although expected, the passing away of Guża Ellul was a shock to me just the same.
She was my teacher way back to 1948-50. She taught the then standard primary classes 3 and 4.
She was a woman of sterling character. She passed on to us great values.
She never raised her voice or gave us lines yet she had quiet discipline which we obeyed to the letter.
During the summer months she used to come to school three mornings a week to helpus revise, teach us needlework and so on.
She kept us occupied voluntarily. When I became a teacher I did my best to emulate her and instil in my pupils the values she gave me.
I’m certain that dear Miss Ellul is reaping a fruitful harvest and I’m also sure her ex-Żabbar pupils remember her with love and gratitude.
