Arlauskis, who played in the 6-0 defeat at Real Madrid and up to half-time in Monday’s 5-0 home loss to Real Sociedad before coming off, has a torn muscle in his right thigh. Marcelo: Real Madrid full back Marcelo looks set to miss the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie away to Roma next week after dislocating his shoulder. The Brazil left back was injured during Real’s 2-1 win at Granada in La Liga on Sunday and will not be fit in time for the trip to Rome on Feb. 17, according to Spanish media reports.

Pavoletti: Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti is expected to be out of the game until the end of March after sustaining a hamstring injury, his club said yesterday. Pavoletti was hurt in his team’s goalless draw with Lazio last weekend. “Genoa CFC announces that the tests at Istituto Il Baluardo showed that Leonardo Pavoletti has a second degree lesion to the biceps femoris in the right thigh,” a statement said.

Oblak: Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has signed a new five-year contract with the Primera Division club. Oblak, 23, has committed to the end of the 2020-21 season after impressing in his first two seasons in Spain, having joined from Benfica in 2014. Under his previous deal, Oblak was tied to Atletico until 2020, with his new terms securing his services for a further season.

Low dividend: Manchester United’s share price dipped to its lowest level in over three years this week after Louis van Gaal’s team slipped further behind their rivals in the hunt for Champions League qualification. The possibility of failing to qualify for the Champions League has clearly concerned investors. United’s share price dropped from $14.50 (£10.05) to $13.86 (£9.61) on Monday.
