Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi is set to become the Labour Party’s deputy leader for party affairs as his was the only nomination received for the post by the close of nominations today.

The Labour Party said in a statement that according to its statute, delegates had to confirm the appointment in a secret vote, which will be taken on February 25.

To be confirmed deputy leader, Dr Mizzi has to obtain 50 per cent plus one of the valid votes cast.
