• The Ta’ Xbiex council will be organising the second Carnival at the Marina tomorrow from 6pm in the Ta’ Xbiex Yacht Marina car park.

Carnival floats, masks, over 13 dance companies, singers, costume competitions and other surprises will be on show. Entrance is free.

• Today being the first Sunday of the month, various historic sites will be open, such as the medieval chapels of Ħal Millieri, Bir Miftuħ and the Msida Bastion Historic Garden (Floriana), by volunteers of Din l-Art Ħelwa from 9.30 am to noon. Torri ta’ Sopu in Nadur will be open between10.30am and 1pm. Admission to all sites is free but donations for the upkeep of these properties are appreciated.

• The Our Lady of Consecration movement will be holding a prayer meeting at Girgenti, Siġġiewi today at 3.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend (www.ourladyofconsecration.org).

• A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at church of All Souls, Tarxien.

The prayer meeting starts at 9pm with Mass, followed by adoration until 11pm.

• The St Joseph Blata l-Bajda/Valletta Past Pupils Association is organising a pilgrimage for the Jubilee Year of Mercy on March 9. Families and friends are welcome.
