Three well-established musicians will be performing a programme of light and uplifting songs on the occasion of their Aprile CD launch at the Manoel tomorrow.

The Aprile CD launch concert will feature soprano Gillian Zammit, mezzo-soprano Clare Ghigo, and the MPO’s principal harpist Britt Arend. They will be interpreting all 18 songs from their latest album called Aprile, which will be launched this evening.

A varied selection of inspiring songs by Debussy, Saint-Saens, Viardot, Hahn, Massenet, Granados, Rossini, Bellini, Tosti and our very own Alex Vella Gregory will be presented. All songs have been carefully selected due to their strong imagery and their ability to enlighten the soul. Vella Gregory is a composer and pianist and his works are known for their lyricism.

Both Zammit and Ghigo need no introduction, both being versatile performers.

Arend, an avid chamber music player and principal harpist with the MPO since 2008, has a Masters Degree from the Brussels Royal Conservatoire of Music where she obtained outstanding results. The concert starts at 8pm.
