Regulations that will prohibit the possession of dangerous animals and stop their importation, except by licensed zoos, have been published, the government said.

It said in a statement that dangerous animals that are already in Malta have to be registered within 90 days against a €10 fee. All births have also to be registered and the authorities have to be informed of transfers, death or escapes.
