The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses is calling on the government to recognise it as the union representing the majority of physiotherapists working within the public sector.

General secretary Colin Galea yesterday said that the union had written to the permanent secretary within the Social Dialogue Ministry to authorise the Employment Director to kick off the verification process.

This move comes after the MUMN was authorised to change its statute and open its doors to other health professionals within the public, parastatal and private sector.
