A 21-year-old Somali who lives in Munxar was today jailed two years, fined €2,300 and had his driving licence suspended for a year after he pleaded guilty to stealing a car and driving it without an insurance policy.

He also admitted damaging the car he was driving and another three.

He was also accused of refusing to take a breathalyser test.

In a separate case, a 26-year-old man from Fontana was fined €500 and had his probation order extended by a year after he admitted to attacking another man.

He also admitted breaching the conditions of a previous release and being a relapser.

Inspector Bernard Charles Spiteri prosecuted in both cases, which were heard by Magistrate Paul Coppini.
