Following consultation, hotels and restaurateurs are now more confident about increasing their employment of persons with disabilities, their association said.

The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association held an information session on disability employment in the hospitality sector earlier this week.

MHRA president Tony Zahra yesterday said the government initiative to boost employment of disabled was an important step forward for the country.

He said that after the consultation, MHRA members were now more confident about increasing disability employment.

Mr Zahra said hospitality businesses could not operate in a vacuum, without addressing the social needs and realities surrounding them, including disability.
