The FKNK hunters' federation has accused Maltapost of discrimination, saying hunters are being requested to pay their licenses in cash only at Maltapost offices, while cheques may also be used for other services.

The federation said this could amount to discrimination and a breach of human rights.

In a reaction, Maltapost said hunters/trappers licenses are available from its offices on a temporary basis within a short time window. "It is normal practice that payment for such temporary services are only accepted in cash," it said.

"MaltaPost does accept payment by cheques up to restricted amounts for certain products and services which are however of an ongoing nature."
