A video of a Pomeranian dog in Thailand doing a traditional Chinese lion dance is getting a lot of attention ahead of Lunar New Year.

The pooch is nearly two-years-old and is named "Zipplaw", which means "10-wheel truck" in Thai. It's also called "Optimus" in English.

His owner, Natthakrita Brompunya, said she found the lion dance outfit at a local market. She added that she didn't expect the video to get so popular.

The video has received over 3 million views since it was posted on 'Optimus Crane Facebook Page' on Monday, a Facebook page dedicated to Zipplaw and his friends.

Next Monday (February 8) marks the first year of the Year of the Monkey.

Many believe the dance, accompanied by loud drum beats and cymbals, can expel evil spirits and bring about good luck.
