Palumbo shipyard employees this morning walked from the courts to the Auberge de Castille to protest over  a court case which they claim is endangering their jobs.

Three Palumbo Shipyard representatives were arraigned on Monday after Senglea residents complained they could not stand the incessant noise disturbing their sleep.

The arraignment followed a criminal complaint by the PRO of the Senglea Residents Association.

The 50 to 60 workers gathered at the OPM’s customer care office while their representatives held talks with members of the Prime Minister's secretariat. They complained that their job is at stake and they are being ignored by the authorities.

The OPM informed the workers that they would get back to them.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat was not at Castille during the protest.
