Times of Malta says hundreds more motorcycles are expected on the road in the coming months if the current trend persists as auto dealers report being overwhelmed by an “unprecedented demand”. In another story, it says the deans of all the faculties at the University of Malta have reached a consensus to back current pro-rector Alfred Vella to succeed Juanito Camilleri as the next rector.

The Malta Independent reports the Justice Minister saying that the government is determined to do away with outdated laws criminalising the vilification of religion and will introduce new legislation that is more reflective of today’s society. The shadow minister said that the government was blurring the lines between religion and pornography.

In-Nazzjon says that the rehabilitated landfill at Qortin in Gozo, which had to be transformed into a family park, has been given to the Chinese for a photovoltaic panels project.

L-Orizzont says that 1,100 people started to received services from the Detox Centre last year.
