A friend of mine bought two tickets to fly to Malta in March.
Unfortunately one of the passengers died unexpectedly.
So he called Air Malta to find out if he could just change the name on one of the tickets.
The answer was: “Yes, but there is a €60 charge and also you need the former passenger’s written agreement.”
So he once again explained the reasons why he needed to change the name on the second ticket and once again the reply was: “You still need the first passenger’s written agreement.”
When he asks the employee how he is expected to get the written agreement from a dead person, the employee eventually said: “Maybe we ought to change our rules for such cases.”
One is simply lost for words. Apparently thinking is not allowed or is simply not possible.
How does anyone expect a company to operate successfully when they employ such stupid people?
