When we Maltese emigrated in the past, we settled and integrated, and never did we protest for one thing or another. We all became respected citizens in our adopted country.
Whenever Maltese people married a local, we never made them become a Catholic, it was up to them to decide.
But the same cannot be said in the case of a Muslim marrying a Maltese. So I would like to point out to Ramon Casha (Talking Point, January 21) why we Maltese become concerned. Our forefathers worked very hard for what Malta is today. The Organisation of Maltese Patriots is trying to make sure it stays that way.
