Njongo Priso is to continue his season with Sliema Wanderers after agreement was reached with with Premier League leaders Valletta over his transfer.
The Cameroonian winger had been widely tipped to join a foreign club after rescinding his five-year contract with Valletta but his proposed move to Turkish side Samsunspor failed to materialise.
Priso, who scored eight goals for Valletta in the Premier League this season, is now expected to sign a short-term deal with Sliema Wanderers who have concluded talks with Valletta over compensation for the transfer.
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Justin Haber is on the verge of completing his move to Hibernians from Birkirkara after the two clubs agreed terms over his transfer last weekend.
Haber has long been linked with a move to Hibernians as the champions made the signing of an experienced goalkeeper their top priority during the current transfer window which ends this evening.
In comments to Times of Malta, Haber said: “I’m delighted to have joined Hibernians, one of the most prestigious clubs in Maltese football. Hibernians have had some great goalkeepers throughout their history, the likes of Freddie Mizzi il-Pampalun, John Bonello and Mario Muscat and I’m therefore honoured to follow in their footsteps.
“Leaving Birkirkara was a very difficult decision because the club means a lot to me but I love football and I want to play. I will never forget the time I spent with Birkirkara but now I’m looking forward to this new challenge."
