If wood trim just isn’t classy enough for prestigious British carmaker Bentley, there are now two stone finishes to choose from.

The craftsmen at Crewe take slices just 0.1mm thick, cured with glass fibre and a bespoke resin, to give lightweight and stunning new ways to specify its Continental and Flying Spur.

Available through the Mulliner coach-building and customisation division, the slate and quartzite stone is sourced from mines in the Indian regions of Rajasthan and Andhra. It can be added to ‘Galaxy’, ‘Autumn White’, ‘Terra Red’ and ‘Copper’ colour interiors at first.

Stone veneers are another first for Bentley, but only the beginning of what the company plans to do with this luxurious and unique material. As the established experts in the handcrafting of wood and leather, they are now exploring new, fine and rare materials to offer even more bespoke tailoring and choice to their customers.
