The following are the top stories in the Maltese newspapers today.

The Sunday Times of Malta reports that most of the stone slabs for the new parliament building have failed tests of their strength.

MaltaToday says fishermen have complained that official lampara catches are being seriously over-valued by the environment ministry. It also reports on a big debt incurred by the PN for its club in Siggiewi.. 

The Malta Independent on Sunday says the Borg Oliviers are getting €2.2 million for expropriated national pool land. 

It-Torca carries another story about what it says are irregularities by Gozitan PN candidate Ryan Mercieca regarding funds raised by NGOs. (Mr Mercieca sued the newspaper last week)

Il-Mument says former parliamentary secretary Michael Falzon is shouldering somebody else's burden.

Kullhadd reports on Tonio Fenech's 'gift' to the Cabinet before the general election.

Illum over a picture of Parliamentary Secretary Deborah Schembri says that anyone who abused in the Lands Department will be removed.
