Hundreds of people showed up in Valletta this afternoon as the city marks the feast of St Paul.

Confetti rained down on enthusiasts and the band played on, amid supporters' chants (and the odd insult at rivals). The splendid weather welcomed the statue of St Paul as it was carried shoulder high along the street named in his honour.

This year's festivities were pushed forward since the traditional February 10 date coincides with the beginning of lent.
