I have just got home from a nightmare drive through Mensija to the San Ġwann Road.
The main road has been dug up for several days if not weeks. I had the misfortune of trying to drive home that way and along with many other drivers found myself in complete chaos, with endless roads blocked off and not one diversion sign or a warden in sight.
When I eventually managed to get onto the main road through much trial and error and about half an hour later, I drove past two Transport Malta officials who were standing on the main road where the Mensija road is blocked. I called across to advise them that there was traffic chaos behind them and no diversion signs or wardens to help.
One of them shouted back at me, “So what!” I can only take it that if this is the attitude of a Transport Malta representative then we should not be surprised by the traffic chaos we seem to find all over the island these days.
