Only after its wines have successfully passed an autonomous assessment is a winery in Malta allowed to market its new vintage wines labelled as Denominazzjoni ta’ Origini Kontrollata (DOK).

Recently, Delicata’s white, rosé and red wines of the latest 2015 vintage which were submitted for DOK classification were all given the official rubber stamp of approval by the authorities after independent lab screening and organoleptic valuations.

The Delicata winery has now obtained the certification ‘DOK Malta’ for wines in the company’s Medina, Grand Vin de Hauteville and Gran Cavalier ranges, and ‘DOK Gozo’ for the four wines behind the Victoria Heights label.

Malta’s most-awarded winery has started bottling these accredited wines for immediate distribution to the delight of eagerly waiting domestic and overseas customers.

Red wine samples of the promising 2015 vintage of Delicata’s Grand Vin de Hauteville and Gran Cavalier reserves shall be sent for accreditation later. While stock of these red premiums of the 2014 vintage is still available, the big 2015 reds in the making are kept cellared for the time being in order to let them fully mature, unhurried in oak barriques in the winery’s barrel vault.
