The total environment has always been a priority for the PN despite any shortcomings.

From the aesthetic point of view it was during the Fenech Adami administration that we saw the introduction of landscaping all over Malta because when we talk of environmental quality this includes the effects it has on the health, comfort and psychological state of the people.

The quality of life, however, does not depend solely on the physical environment but equally on social environment.

Despite drastic changes in terms of promoting reconciliation, dialogue and solidarity by that same administration, there is always room for improvement, particularly in the face of situations where one person is “awarded” €4 million, an amount that could be used in the health sector. Another case in point is the Żonqor Point saga.

This was referred to by Simon Busuttil when closing the Idea Ambjent convention – another feather in his cap, sustained by his belief in triumph of righteousness, the same as Eddie Fenech Adami.

Busuttil pledged to fight corruption and irregularities such as the unacceptable €42 million subsidy for public transport in return for a far from perfect service.

In sharp contrast to scandalous clientelism, he believes in government as a guardian of the public domain, in striking a balance between people’s needs and safeguarding the environment for all.

Supporting Busuttil would mean guaranteeing urban and rural spaces where our culture as well as our relationship with nature can be enhanced.

It means a quality of life incorporating a healthy lifestyle within a social environment that encourages a sense of community.

To support Busuttil is to aim for a better distribution of wealth from a transparent administration in a better protected physical and social environment - a sound basis for peace of mind with meaningful progress for all.
