Zhirkov: Russian champions Zenit St Petersburg have signed Dynamo Moscow defender Yuri Zhirkov. The 32-year-old will join Zenit on July 1 on a two-year contract. Zhirkov, who has won 67 caps for Russia, played the majority of his career at CSKA Moscow, helping them win the UEFA Cup in 2005.

Ramirez: Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez has joined Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season. Ramirez, who spent much of the last campaign on loan at Hull, has made 55 appearances for Southampton since joining from Bologna in 2012.

Robinson: Burnley have signed former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson on a deal until the end of the season. The 36-year-old has been without a club since leaving Blackburn at the end of last term and has agreed a short-term contract with Burnley. Burnley boss Sean Dyche was on the lookout for a new keeper with Matt Gilks out for several weeks with an elbow injury.

Maccabi signing: Portuguese striker Orlando Sa has left Reading for Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Championship club has confirmed. The 27-year-old, who made 21 appearances and scored five goals for the Royals after joining from Legia Warsaw for £1 million last summer, has moved for an undisclosed fee and signed and three-and-a-half-year deal.

Bourillon: Angers have announced the signing of former Paris St Germain defender Gregory Bourillon from Reims. The 31-year-old has joined the club, who currently sit fifth in the Ligue 1 table, on a one-and-a-half year deal. Angers said: “After undergoing a medical test, the player, who has played 236 matches in Ligue 1, signed his one-and-a-half-year contract with the club president (Said) Chabane.”

Atsu: Chelsea winger Christian Atsu has joined Malaga on loan until the end of the season. The 24-year-old Ghanaian, who played for Everton last year, spent the first half of the 2015-16 campaign with Bournemouth but failed to make any Premier League appearances. A statement published on Chelsea’s official website revealed Atsu had agreed to “continue his development” with Primera Division side Malaga.
