ASCIAK. On January 24, at St James (Ca­pua), Sliema, WILFRID, at the age of 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by all his immediate family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Marion, his children Ralph and Vanessa, Gordon and Helen, Rozanne and Darryl, Mark and Helene, and his grandchildren Gordon junior, Andrew, Matthew, Michael and Marty, his brother-in-law Alex and his wife Dolores, his sister-in-law Marlene, other relatives and friends. CACHIA CASTELLETTI. On January 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY, aged 67, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will forever be loved and remembered by his wife Maria, his daughters Michelle, Suzanne and her husband William, and Louise; his grandchildren Chantelle, Isabelle, Saviour and Monique; his brother Oreste and his sister Clementine, their respective spouses and families; his wife’s parents Salvatore and Inez, and his wife’s siblings Charles, Tessie and John, their respective spouses and families; other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, January 27 for Ta’ Xbiex parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family would appreciate if instead of flowers, donations be sent in Anthony’s name to Hospice Malta, Balzan, and/or Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GALEA. On January 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, of Mġarr, director of Galea Autoparts (Ta’ Randu), aged 70, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Doris née Camilleri, his son Elton and Elaine and baby Cole, his siblings Sr Maria Anna of the White Sisters, Jimmy, Esther wife of the late Vince Camilleri, Rachel and her husband Charles Spiteri, Hans van Gerven husband of his late sister Sarah, and Benny, his in-laws Edwin and Dorianne Camilleri, Joe and Vena Camilleri, Odette and Louis Pace, Sharon and Jean Pierre Scerri, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 3pm for Mġarr parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment at the Mġarr cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Caritas will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On January 24, EMMANUEL LAURENCE known as LAURIE, aged 69 of St Julian’s, formerly of Air Malta and long-time parliamentary reporter, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Vivienne, his daughters Valerie and her husband Stefan Fenech, Stephanie, Natalie and her husband Pradeep George, his grandchildren Ben, Emily, Zachary, Giorgio and Viola, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am for St Julian’s parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ZAMMIT. On January 24, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, INGRID, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreplaceable loss her beloved son Karl, her mother Daisy, her sister Priscilla and her husband Tonio Cuschieri, her brothers Ivor and his wife Helene, and Kevin, all nephews and nieces, other relatives and numerous friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, January 27 at 2pm for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30pm, followed by private interment in the family chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
