The Irish Short Film Festival Malta Edition, a new concept to short film cinema and an alternative to long queues and the hustle and bustle of cinemas, will take place on Saturday at 6.30pm at Villa Bologna’s indoor cinema.

Curated by Eibh Collins of IndieCork Festival, Irish Film London and The Galway Film Fleadh, a selection of some of the best Irish shorts has been prepared and will be screened for the very first time on the night.

Ms Collins said: “With the quality of Irish short films becoming world-renowned, I think it is important for us to continue to showcase our national work to an increasingly more international audience. This is why I am particularly honoured to be able to exhibit these shorts to a brand new audience in Malta.”

Hosted by Emma Marie Sammut, the Irish Film Fest celebrates how short film cinema emanating from Ireland is a journey of discovery in the land of mist and magical landscapes.

It is a unique alternative film distribution and an exhibition platform as these short films are not screened at local cinemas or on TV and the audience will be given the opportunity to vote for the best film.

Entrance is €10, including wine, canapes and popcorn. For bookings, send a text message to 9945 4066 or e-mail euromediaforum@gmail.com. For more details, visit https://www.facebook.com/Euro.Media.Forum.

This event is being held with the support of Villa Bologna, Jameson Irish Whiskey and Euro Media Forum.
