Michael Falzon was applauded this morning as he arrived at the Orpheum Theatre in Gzira for a Labour political activity addressed by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

He sat in the front row with other MPs.

Dr Falzon is continuing to insist he did nothing irregular regarding the Gaffarena case and has pledged loyalty to the Labour Party.

Yesterday he said that some time ago he had had a meeting with the Auditor General during which he told him that a person within his office was manipulating the audit office investigations so as to harm the government for political reasons. Yet nothing was done.

He said he would keep his seat in parliament but did not say whether he would contest the next general election.

The crowd which filled the theatre also cheered when Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg addressed the meeting before Dr Muscat.
