Several years ago I had suggested that the authorities should take a look at the paving used in Dubrovnik’s main street – Stradun.

As was the ‘style’ of the time, my suggestion was rather unceremoniously shot down on the grounds that I was not technically qualified to comment on such matters.

I would now respectfully suggest that whoever was responsible for the selection of the paving actually used, should take a stroll through City Gate and Parliament square, keeping eyes focused downwards on the stained paving, and compare what is seen with the photo here, drawing one’s own conclusions.

While on the subject, could someone kindly inform the Maltese taxpayer of the final total cost of the City Gate project?
