The annual rate of inflation as measured by the Retail Price Index last month stood at 1.04 per cent.

A year earlier it was 0.15 per cent.

The National Statistics Office said the main upward impacts were mainly due to higher prices of vegetables, cigarettes and entertainment and cultural visits.

The largest downward impact was mainly due to lower fuel prices. The reduction in the price of gas also had a slight impact

The 12-month moving average rate was 1.1 per cent.
