The shadow minister for tourism, Antoine Borg, questioned this evening how an executive secretary at the Malta Tourism Authority became Manager EU Affairs in a matter of two years, bypassing several other people who were in line for the post.

This woman, he said, happened to be a cousin of a consultant in the Office of the Prime Minister who was recently in the headlines (Glenn Bedingfield).

The least one could hope for, he said, was that this woman could somehow get things going with regard to the EU, Mr Borg said.

He said the MTA was suffering from a lack of communication between its various levels.

Furthermore, he asked if the MTA was moving to Smart City. This was something which would affect the workers, and they should be told about it, he said.
