A 548-page book entitled L-Immakulata Kunċizzjoni tar-Rabat Għawdex – l-Istatwa li naqax l-Iskultur Salvatore Psaila, was launched at the Gozo Ministry, Victoria.

The book by Anthony Farrugia recounts the story behind the commissioning of the statue of the Immaculate Conception, sculpted in wood by Salvatore Psaila. It also provides a historical background on the arrival of the Franciscan Minor Conventual Order in Gozo and the activities of the confraternity that promoted the cult of the Immaculate Conception in Gozo.

The book launch, chaired by Gozo National Archives assistant Francesco Pio Attard, was addressed by assistant national archivist Mgr Joseph Bezzina, Anton Tabone, honorary president of the committee of the feast of the Immaculate Conception, Dr Stephanie Coppini, who read a Maltese translation of the original Italian contract, Fr Alfred Calleja, ex-provincial of the Franciscan Minor Conventual Order, and the author.
