6PM plc, a leader in health IT solutions, has acquired its remaining shareholding in the electronic and mobile care provider, emCare360 Ltd from Care Malta Group Ltd. As a result, emCare360 has become a fully-owned subsidiary of 6PM Holdings.

Speaking about the acquisition, 6PM CEO Ivan Bartolo said: “This acquisition was the next logical step in 6PM’s strategic growth plan. emCare is a healthcare technology company and it made sense for 6PM to acquire the remaining 50 per cent of shares previously owned by Care Malta.”

Mr Bartolo added that “following this acquisition, emCare will continue to offer its services in Malta to both the consumer and business sectors, which are mainly Telecare users and Care Malta. Furthermore, 6PM will now have a third product line as emCare products will be marketed in the UK under the 6PM brand name.

“Through the full ownership of this company, 6PM will continue to enhance its strategy to focus on health solutions as part of its drive to revolutionise the health market in the 21st century.”

emCare360 provides electronic and mobile care to clients, offering them independence and peace of mind, and to organisations, offering them accountability, efficiency and visibility through its solutions. All services and products are integrated with a central repository that enables emCare360 to manage an electronic medical record for and on behalf of its customers.

The company has been responsible for the Telecare service in Malta in collaboration with GO plc since April 2013, servicing just under 10,000 households.

emCare360 was also instrumental in the launching of the Telecareplus service, which introduced the possibility of connecting a number of sensors to the service.

Complementing the Telecare service, emCare360 also introduced a vital signs monitoring service, and this is being implemented and adopted by care providers in Malta, Italy and the UK.

It has also launched a mobile service, which is the natural evolution of the traditional telecare service.

With its portfolio, emCare does not replace the human care element but compliments it with technology, a company spokesman said.
