Recent changes to the bus transport network as well as complaints and suggestions made in the past two weeks were discussed between Transport Minister Joe Mizzi, Transport Malta chairman James Piscopo and officials from the bus company today.

It was noted that a considerable number of routes had been lengthened to include St Luke’s Hospital and improve accessibility for Junior College Students. It was decided that these changes would remain in force in the interest of the service’s social obligation.

Changes to the X1 route were agreed upon and it was acknowledged that accessibility to San Gwann should be improved.

Transport Malta asked the company to improve passenger information and increase the number of customer care officials at Mater Dei Hospital.

The minister said that while a large number of localities reported an improved service, the implementation of the new route network was being supervised regularly to identify were it could be improved.
