SANT. God has blessed us again with baby MATTIA. He was Heaven sent on December 19, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema. Welcome with love to Claire née Muscat and Alan Mario and brother Luca. Special thanks to midwife Carmen Pace, the obstetrician and all the caring staff.

Obituaries
ATTARD. On January 8, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE, aged 58, of San Ġwann, residing in Bidnija, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Astrid, his children Pauline, Andrew and Matthew, his mother Helen, his siblings Carmen, Kate, Kalċidon and Vanna, Salvu, widower of his sister Maria, and Maria, daughter of his late sister Doris, their respective families, nephews and nieces, his mother-in-law Elfie and his extended family both in Malta and Austria and members of the Malta Shooting Sports Federation, the Malta Canine Society and the Malta Kennel Club, of which he was an active member. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Our Lady of Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann.
BORDA. Suddenly, on December 31, CHARLES, aged 68. He leaves to mourn his great loss, his son Ian and his wife Elisa, and his daughter Ruth, his beloved mother, Emily, and his siblings Christine, Tanya, Harry, Nadette, Stephanie and Michel, their spouses, nephews and nieces and numerous friends. The funeral took place on January 2. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
CHAPELLE. On January 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, JEANNINE, née Dort, of Sliema, formerly of Paris, France, widow of Harry (Henry Herbert), aged 93, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Babette, Claire, Mark and his wife Cindy, her grandchildren Jennifer and her partner Christopher, Lavinia and her partner Emmanuel, Jean-Marc and Sophie, her great-grandchildren Max and Holly, her sisters Françoise, Maryse and her husband Alain, her brother Louis and his wife Paule, her many nephews and nieces in Malta, Australia and the US, numerous relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, tomorrow at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Creche or Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.
FRENDO. On January 8, at Mater Dei Hospital, PAULINE, from Paola, aged 76, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her siblings Josephine, Marion, widow of Edgar Causon, and Fr Salvatore Frendo, who resides in Caserta, Italy, her nephew Karl, her nieces Myriam and Joanna and their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Ta' l-Erwieħ Cemetery, Tarxien. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
