In St Mary Street corner with Neolithic Temples Street in Tarxien there is a stone cross which has been deteriorating for a couple of years and which could pose a danger to passers-by. One has to point out that St Mary Street is a busy road.

Some years ago I highlighted this to the previous parish priest and mayor but they both tried to wash their hands off the matter. According to the parish priest, the local council is responsible for this cross, while the mayor shifted the responsibility on to the Curia.

Thus the danger remains and passersby have to avoid passing near this cross. One hopes, however, that some day someone sees that this cross is repaired before an accident occurs.
