The artists of the Crown of Russian Ballet of Moscow, in collaboration with soloists from the Bolshoi Theatre and a team of talented young dancers are presenting The Great Russian Nutcracker at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta on Sunday at 4pm.

On a sparkling Christmas Eve in a frost-dusted Edwardian London, Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker doll discover a magical world where she battles with the Mouse King and meets a handsome stranger. As the air grows colder, Clara and her valiant Nutcracker take a hot air balloon ride across London to the glistening Land of Snow where her adventure really begins.
The Great Russian Nutcracker ballet is part of the Russian Christmas Festival, which is being held in Malta between today and January17. It is organised by the Russian-Maltese Cultural Association in collaboration with other Russian diaspora organisations, and is also dedicated to the celebration of the Russian Orthodox Christmas.
The festival will include a series of cultural and art events, including Russian traditional folk art exhibitions and Russian fashion shows, a traditional Christmas tree party for children, a painting contest entitled Orthodox Christmas By My Eyes, a Russian Orthodox celebration Mass, a Russian Christmas Season concert and other seasonal activities.
The duration of the performance is two hours and is classified as 5 years and over.
