Forty-two teachers obtained the postgraduate certificate in the teaching of ethics in schools from the University’s Faculty of Education. The certificate will enable teachers to implement the subject of ethics education in primary and secondary schools.
Over the two semesters, the graduands explored topics related to ethical theories, moral and spiritual development, effective pedagogies for teaching ethics and methods for curriculum planning and assessment of the subject.
The programme, launched in December 2013, is currently being implemented in two colleges – St Clare’s College and Maria Regina College. The first cohort of students taking their Ethics Education will sit for their O level in 2018.
