More than 5,000 reports of domestic violence were lodged in Malta between 2009 and the end of 2014. Many cases remained unreported.

At least a quarter of all murders committed in Malta in the last five years were related to domestic violence.

Times Talk discussed the issues on Tuesday with lawyer Veronique Dalli, Appogg director Ruth Sciberras and police inspector Joseph Busuttil. The programme also featured a live phone-in with Civil Rights Minister Helena Dalli.
