Floriana Café del Mar’s Chad Patus and Christine Grima, of Hiber-nians, are the basketball players of the month for November.

With 138 points in five matches, Patus averaged 27.60 points per game with 71 per cent of his tally coming from the free-throw line and 43 per cent from the distance.

With 10 three-pointers from 23 attempts, the Canadian was the top three-point shooter during November while also suffering 11.20 fouls (56 in five games).

Grima was the top scorer in the Women’s League with 138 points from five matches for an average of 27.60 points per game.

With 43 per cent of the points coming from the distance, she was also the top three-pointer scorer with six.

Grima also had a average of four steals per game. The award follows the two she won in January and November 2011 when Grima played for Loyola.

The men’s Division Two award for November went to Steve Sammut, of Mellieħa Mr Green.

This is also Sammut’s third award having also won it in January 2009 with Mellieħa and in October 2009 at Floriana.

Peter Perotti, Chief Officer at BOV, congratulated the winners and presented them with a commemorative plaque.
