Birdlife Malta held a nature walk to Imġiebaħ Valley.

It started at Selmun Palace and proceeded along the path in the garigue above the valley leading to the first apiaries were the first beehives were built. Participants then followed the pathway leading down the valley and onto the beach area, walked across the valley, and back to the start point.

During the walk details were given on the various flora species growing in the area, including common plants such as fennel, spiny asparagus and wild thyme. The area is also home to various shrubs and trees including the olive-leaved buckthorn, evergreen honeysuckle, holm oak, carob and hawthorn.

The walk was conducted by Birdlife members Michael Grima and Maria Muscat.
