Henley Business School recently welcomed another intake from Malta for the traditional Starter Workshop at the Greenlands UK campus.

The 28-strong cohort from Malta provided some interesting statistics: besides being the largest cohort in over a decade of Henley intakes, the majority are female executives.

This is the second time a Henley intake is dominated by women, an anomaly in the male-dominated business world, but reflecting a possible trend.

Another interesting fact is that the intake is made up of eight different nationalities, making it a truly international and multicultural environment, with students hailing from Italy, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Finland, Libya, the Philippines and Australia, besides Malta.

The group of executives, managers, and business owners were joined by their counterparts from Germany, Finland and Ireland to create a great international atmosphere for learning and networking.

Prior to the trip, Allied Consultants, Henley’s international partner for the Mediterranean, organised an evening master class for the Maltese group so that they would have had the opportunity of meeting and getting to know each other before the start of this demanding learning journey.

Following their arrival at Henley, short introductions to Henley Business School and the two-and-a-half year programme were provided by the UK programme director and the subject area leader as well as the administrators.

The three-day workshop itself was an introduction to the Henley Flexible Executive MBA, with sessions on leadership, personal development, research and study skills.

This will be followed by weekend workshops approximately once every eight to 10 weeks in Malta, with the possibility to attend workshops in any of the other Henley locations around the world.
