Germany deported its first group of migrants under an agreement with Balkan states on those whose identification papers have been destroyed or expired.

This is the first group of migrants deported from Germany under a deal with Balkan states to send back asylum seekers whose identification documents have expired or been destroyed.

Kosovo is the final destination of this group of about 60.

All had their applications for asylum rejected.

Many asylum seekers destroy their passports on arrival in their destination country.

As a result Germany's only been able to deport about a third of those whose applications it's rejected.

Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania were declared safe in September, making its citizens automatically ineligible for asylum.

All three countries have agreed to recognise Germany's identification process and its temporary travel document.

Germany also wants to deport applicants from Pakistan and several African countries with the same temporary pass.
